Dignity Day Celebrations

We pride ourselves with the work that we do surrounding dignity at The Limes. In 2015 we were awarded the Dignity Award by Derby City Council.

Everyone at The Limes does everything that they can every day in order to uphold and promote dignity for each and every person at The Limes. However, every year we choose to honour Dignity day and all that it stands for by arranging an activity for the residents to take part in.

We have many members of staff at The Limes who are registered Dignity Champions.

Dignity Day 2021

Dignity Day 2021 as always was celebrated on the 01st February. This year at The Limes we decided to make it a week long event! The staff at The Limes organised many events and activities that were spread across the week in order to promote the importance of Dignity in Care.

Dignity Day 2020

Dignity Day this year took place on Saturday 1st of February.

This year the staff at The Limes organised for a "Digni-tree" to be designed and was placed on the wall for all of the residents and relatives to admire and enjoy.

Residents were asked what Dignity meant to them and why it was important. The answers that were given were placed on our "Digni-tree". As always, other decorations were placed throughout The Limes in order to raise awareness.

Dignity Day 2019

In the days before Dignity Day some of the residents were asked what dignity means to them. There answers were then arranged into a display for everyone to admire.

As well as thinking about what dignity means to us, a “Dance for Dignity” was also arranged for the residents in order to celebrate Dignity Day. Many of the residents spent their younger years dancing. Staff thought that it would be lovely if the residents could revisit this. On the 02^nd of February, the residents danced to “The hand Jive” in their armchairs.
